Stalemate

"Stalemate"

"Stalemate" occurs when a player cannot move any of his pieces.

This includes the king which, if moved, may be in check.

If a player cannot make a legal move during his/her turn, stalemate is the result and a draw is declared.

A draw is declared if a player is "stalemated" at any time during regular play.

Another way to get a draw is if there aren't enough pices on the board to force a checkmate.
