How knights move and capture

1. The knight moves in an L-shape (two squares forward and one square to the side, in any direction.)
 
2.  The knight, like a horse, is the only piece that can jump over other pieces.
 
3. If a knight moves to a square occupied by an opponent's piece, then that piece is captured and removed from the chessboard as part of the same move.
